In 2002 I was commissioned to provide an image for a proposed new nature reserve belonging to the RSPB in the North East of England. This wetland site is deep within industrial Teesside and will be a reserve for people and wildlife.

The brief was to provide an ’artists impression’ of how the reserve may look and the type of species which may be attracted at some time in the future. The original painting will be exhibited within a proposed visitor centre and the image used to promote the venture.

This is an excellent example of how artists can bring abstract ideas and projects to life and support wonderful conservation projects.
